Did we only get a couple of days and now winter is back? It's almost May for Pete's sake (whoever Pete is, I'm sure he'd want Spring too). We're all tired of being cooped up in the house.
Alex is more than likely getting orthotics. We see the doc on Monday. Good times. No really. We have neglected this poor kid's feet long enough. When you're battling life altering diseases, feet don't register high on the danger scale (in fact most days, you don't go looking for other problems...there is plenty on the plate already). But Monday night we decided the kid needed new shoes. Well since we're "tiger" parents like that and given the fact that the school has begun to duct tape his shoes to his feet.....it was time. Boy this kid has flat feet! It was pointed out by two different shoe tryer on-ers. So I called a Podiatrist.
In the grand theme of things, orthotics aren't a big deal. Unless you're a kid with textural aversions, strong aversions and you can't seem to pull your sh*t together in the morning to get ready for school. When it's a battle royale to get out of bed, go to the bathroom, brush your teeth, get your jeans on, get your shirt on, get your socks on, get your shoes on, take your medicine, get your coat.....one can only imagine the tears over having foreign objects in the shoes, stiff foreign objects.....
Mommy may need to start stiff drinks early in the morning.....
Happy Easter!
