I was planning on having my family Christmas at our house again this year. We have the most room to accomodate everyone. I even get the Friday before off as a paid holiday!
I sent out an email this morning, saying we'll be having Christmas here blah blah. So my mom emails me back and says my brothers want it at her house so they can go hunting and it'd be easier for them. I'm pretty sure it's the work of my one sister-in-law, who has to have control of everything. First I had to trade names with her (we draw names) because she really wanted my mom's name, so I gave in. Now this. I'm pretty sure she's jealous we have a nice new big house and they live in a small old one.
I am really hurt and angry. Of course they put my mom in the middle of it all, so she takes the heat. Of course how do I say anything without looking like a petulant 12 yr old?
I am seriously considering calling down on Christmas Eve and telling them Alex is sick and we won't make it. Screw it. Bah Humbug!

I hate it when one family member ruins it for everyone else :( I'm sorry your SIL is a jealous bitty - hee hee!!! I think you should be able to do what you want on Christmas - we decided that long ago at our house :) We switch off which family we spend Christmas with, my parents here one year, then my hubby's the next. And, with our brood it's just too much of a pain to pack up all our crap and take it somewhere, so we usually just do Christmas at our own house. This year my neice is getting married in Canada though, so we are going to pack up all our crap and head up there for a few days, it ain't convenient and it ain't gonna be pretty (already having some complaining from my teenagers) but, we do occasionally have to sacrifice for family - sighhh. I hope YOU get to do what you want though :)
