Moving Forward

Although the popular opinion is to just move to the new school, just accept it, we are sending a letter to the Director of Special Education, requesting that Alex remain at his current school.

Didn't get much support from the Parent's group here in town, nor much from friends, we are at least going to ask. I feel we owe it to our son to at least try. Our family members were shocked and concerned, along with his daycare teachers. Of course all of us who will bear the brunt of change for Alex.... are concerned. We know what it took to get him this far and we know how much it will take once the work is undone.

While a 6 month adjustment period may not seem like a lot, to us it is. We don't know how long we'll have Alex here, and I want him happy and secure. I could give a rat's ass about middle school. If we get to middle school, I'll worry about it then.
